Mason Holidays Celebration - Tree Lighting & Lighted Parade 2018
The Parade is now full. The Mason Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 18th Annual Mason Holidays Celebration! We would like to invite you to join us for the tree lighting where the Citizen of the Year and winner of the 5th grade poster contest will give the command to light the tree. The parade with it's lights all aglow will arrive downtown shortly after the tree lighting. For more information please see below.
The Mason Area Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Dart Container of Michigan for being our presenting sponsor, Granger for being our environmental sponsor, and Sheridan Realty & Auction Co. for being our audio sponsor. Additionally, we would like to thank the City of Mason and Ingham County for their continued partnership with this event.

5th Grade Poster Contest Information:
Did you see posters with winter and Christmas scenes pop up around town? Well, those posters were created by 5th graders from the Mason elementary schools and they competed to help give the command to light the big tree on November 23rd. The money raised goes to purchase more lightbulbs and light strings for the tree. Voting ran November 5th - November 16th at 1:00pm.
A little-known fact about the tree lights is that each bulb costs about $1 and a 1,000ft string of lights costs about $1,000. The tree takes several light strings and they need to be replaced every couple of years as the squirrels chew through the strings.
