VIckie VandenbeltChapter 55 was originally organized in 1959. Dedicated to the promotion of aviation education and recreation, the Chapter supports a variety of programs and activities. With over one hundred active members, the Chapter is a hub of sport aviation activity for the entire mid-Michigan area. The Chapter hangar, located at Mason-Jewett airport, was constructed in 1985. It provides hangar space for members’ aircraft, a meeting room, and a dedicated workshop for members’ aircraft building or restoration projects. The Chapter supports a Young Eagles program which provides free airplane rides to youngsters age 8 - 17; has a growing youth group and hosts two fly-in/drive-in events at the airport each summer.Tell a Friend
